We are well aware of the impact of solid waste on the environment and the economy in general. The worldresources are not limitless therefore we need to take steps for sustainability. Companies like Quiznos, have adopted new style packaging for their stores that will keep millions of pounds of waste out of the landfills. They are using 100 percent compostable, unbleached, wax coated paper cups — compostable and biodegradable salad bowls – cup lids made of 30 percent post-consumer recycled PET bottles – napkins made from 90 percent post-consumer recycled material fibers. Quiznos estimates that this will save almost 400,000 trees, 16 million gallons of water, seven million cubic yards of landfill and 875,000 pounds of plastic waste.
